Submissions of poetry, creative prose, and short fiction for
The Mom Egg are currently closed.
Submissions period for The Mom Egg 2011 Vol. 9 is Aug. 1, 2010 through Oct. 31, 2010.
The Mom Egg publishes sharp, articulate, inventive work
by mothers about everything and by everyone about mothers and motherhood.

We invite you to read our current issue and back issues
(you can order them or subscribe here).
We are accepting submissions of the following:
Visual art Up to 5 images. Please send an email with bio and info about pix (title, medium, copyright info if any). Send actual files by yousendit.com or other file sending program. Send pix no more than 300 dpi—if your pic is chosen we may ask you to send a larger file.
Book reviews; interviews; literary criticism We can publish reviews of books by or about mothers; interviews with mother-writers or artists. 750 words max. Please query before sending.
Other material--videos, music, etc.
Please inquire.
We choose pieces based on artistic merit. We are a labor of love, and are unable to pay for pieces at this time.
The Mom Egg acquires first-time publication rights to the piece. We also reserve the right to republish it in a future electronic and/or print edition or anthology. Back issues are archived indefinitely. Rights return to the authors after publication: authors retain their copyright, so after their contribution has appeared in The Mom Egg, they may republish their text in any manner they wish—electronic or print—with acknowledgement of The Mom Egg as the original place of publication.
