10 Biggest Bra Myths

1. Underwire bras are uncomfortable!
If your bra fits you right, chances are an underwire bra will be quite easy to wear—you’ll feel supported and very comfortable.
2. Molded bras are like padded bras, adding to your size.
Actually, molded bras do not add to your size, and in some cases, their firm support can make a fuller bust look smaller. They provide a sleek line under smooth fabrics and t-shirts, and helps conceal “poke through”.
3. You can wash and dry your bras in the machine.
There are many benefits from hand washing, which most manufacturers recommend. (I know, we’re busy too!). Your bra will last longer, fit better, and feel more comfortable.
4. All you need is one good bra.
Your bra is one of your most frequently worn items of clothing. In order to allow time for laundry, and special needs of certain outfits, you should have a bra wardrobe. Basics are 2-3 nude bras, 1-2 black ones, a strapless convertible bra, and one that makes you feel absolutely gorgeous!
5. Bra and undies must match.

6. If your bra feels tight, just go up a back size.
Often, you might need to go up a cup size (the letters) and maybe even down a back size (the numbers). A trained fitter can help you find the right fit, and the right bra.
7. “I’ve been wearing the same bra size since high school.”
Most women change bra sizes several times within a lifetime, or even a year! Biology, lifestyle changes, weight loss or gain, and exercise all can contribute to a change in size. Get your fit checked at least yearly.
8. “I just buy 34B, and don’t even try them on.”
Bra fit varies from manufacturer to manufacturer, and even style to style. A trained fitter can help you find not only the correct size, but a bra that flatters your figure.
9. The best option for a snug-fitting dress is a one-piece bodysuit.
